Met Paul by the baggage reclaim in Bangkok airport-not the
most romantic of settings, but a wonderful reunion!
Long day discovering Bangkok:
Picks of me with Buddha in ‘Wot Po’, home to the massive
reclining Buddha and hundreds more reclaimed from throughout the country, in
every divine pose, size and shape… and the odd Chinese Mandarin!
And a pic of me at the top of Wot Anka, where the pagodas
loom over the river offering spectacular views of the Bangkok skyline.
The city is fascinating, a complete contrast to the quiet of
the villages in Ubud: despite jet lag (Paul) and being disorientated after so
long alone (me) we rode the sky train into town, rode the ferry into the
markets of Chinatown and wandered around two famous temples.
This evening we had a sumptuous meal out at the local fish
stall, only to be charged far too much by the owner, so much haggling and
arguing ensured, half was finally agreed, all parting with smiles and
thanks………..welcome to Bangkok!
