Exploring the city…..

We have seen so many aspects of Bangkok in the last few days,
Admired the high-rise spectacular skyline and gazed fascinated at the floating villages and the sinking shacks lining the canals;
We have been to Tescos (yes, really) and wandered the endless night markets and day bazaars and the maze of alleys of Chinatown.
We have marvelled at the splendour of Wot Pho and Wot Ankar, been dazzled by the colours of the Grand Palace, yet also loved the individual dwelling shrines, and the Chinese Temples.
Food has been a constant delight. Street stalls offer so much choice, Paul has been able to indulge his love of meat, and I have my spiced fruit, local ice cream (Pandan and Duran fruit are my favourites), and we have treated ourselves to numerous iced treats, the bowl filled with sweets at the bottom, and topped with syrup and evaporated milk!

Pics show me with at the Grand Palace, with elephant and with an armed guard-hard to tell which was the statue!- me looking exhausted as we took the final ferry back at sunset, and one of the above treat.
